Utah Jazz center Felton Spencer re-injured his left Achilles tendon Sunday and is expected to be out an additional 10 weeks, the Jazz announced.

Spencer underwent surgery Monday afternoon to repair the re-torn tendon at Bountiful's Lakeview Hospital.Monday's surgery was done by team orthopedic surgeon Dr. Lyle Mason.

The 7-footer was moving an ice bucket in his home Sunday when the contents shifted, causing him to distribute his weight unevenly to his left foot and resulting in the partial tendon tear.

Spencer recently had a hard cast removed from his foot and was wearing a soft cast at the time of the injury.

The original injury occurred in Boston on Jan. 13. He was scheduled to return to the team in mid-October, but now probably won't be back until the first of the year - well into the 1995-96 regular season.
