As a nurse, Rebecca Anderson always tried to help people in need. She died the same way.
The 37-year-old nurse died Sunday at University Hospital. She was taken there with severe head injuries suffered after she rushed over to help people in Wednesday's terrorist bombing."She died a hero's death," her brother, Bobby Needham, told KTUL-TV in Tulsa.
Needham told the station he believes his sister was hit in the head by a cement block or concrete, sat down, then got up, passed out and hit her head again.
Hospital personnel first believed Anderson was injured in the blast because she arrived with a wave of bombing victims.
"It was just after we talked to family members that we understood," said Janna Van Meter, a hospital spokeswoman.
Anderson was married with four children.
