Connie Yokum left us on May 10, 1995. It was just a few days short of her 61st birthday, but her life was full and active.
She was not one to sit and let life pass her by. She had the opportunity to live in Nebraska, Illinois, California, Turkey, South Carolina, and of course Utah, where she spent the last decade of her life. She was born May 12, 1934 in Omaha, Nebraska, to Bill and Nellie Bond, grew up in McComb, Illinois, and married Lee Yokum, March 24, 1971.She is survived by her husband, Lee; her son, Nick; her daughter, Linda Keenan; and her brothers, Jim and Bill Bond.
Connie was an organizer and a thinker. If you wanted an event to come off right, or a job to be well done, you would ask Connie to do it. And do it she would, while shunning the limelight. In Utah, Connie worked for IOMED as Manager of Marketing Services. Despite the fact that Connie always put her family first, she was constantly active in civic and volunteer organizations. We never quite knew how she did it.
It is said that Connie had a kind heart. She saw no soul that did not deserve her kindness. Everyone who knew her will miss her, and the better one knew her, surely the more she will be missed.
Her family feels that God will have one of his best helpers and that Heaven will be a little better organized and a little more efficient now that she is there. And Connie, we will miss those lists on the refrigerator door. She was beautiful, she was kind, and she was giving. What more could we have asked.
