When Marsha Mason needed someone who knows about governing, she looked up a guy in her neighborhood.

"It's been very enlightening," the actress said of her two hours observing New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson at work Monday. "I'm just trying to get the education that will allow me to have some insight into what his daily life is about."Filming began last month in California for the movie "Nick of Time." Mason plays a governor who is the target of a murder plot.

Mason said she selected Johnson as her acting coach because she lives in Santa Fe, the state capital.
