Melva Eloise Bosen Wheeler, age 89, died June 15, 1995 at Sunshine Terrace in Logan.

Born July 20, 1905 in Ephraim, Utah to Andrew Christian and Louisa Carlson Bosen, she was the eighth of 12 children. She married Lee Wilson Wheeler on December 31, 1924 in Logan, Utah.As a young girl, she moved from Ephraim to Preston (Riverdale), Idaho, with her family. She and her husband reared their family of four children in Glendale, Idaho; later moving into Preston. In 1965, she and her husband moved to Salt Lake City to be closer to their children. After her husband's death in 1968, she resided in the Bountiful area. Logan, Utah, was her home from 1992 until the time of her death.

Melva was a member of the LDS Church and held various callings throughout her life. Her love for people was expressed through her work and her service to others. Melva's unusually strong influence drew her children together often. Many were welcome in her home; she could always set another place at the table or make up another bed.

She is survived by her four children: two sons and two daughters, Norma (Edward) Pittson of Livermore, Calif.; Jeannine (the late Milton) Johnson, Bountiful; Lee W (Kay) Wheeler, Logan; and Dorsey B. (Kellie) Wheeler, Caldwell, Idaho. Her posterity includes 17 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Gladys Gunderson, Preston, Idaho; Delora Burger, Murray; Leora Hollingsworth, Salt Lake City; and one brother, Curtis Bosen, Riverdale, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers and five sisters.

Friends and family may pay respects at Cranney Mortuary, 420 East 1800 North, North Logan, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, 1995. Graveside services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, SLC, on Monday, June 19, 1995 at 12 noon.
