Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, George Eldon Potter, age 61, died June 26, 1995 at his home in Richfield of cancer.

He was born March 25, 1934 in Bicknell, Utah, a son of William C. and Mabel Brinkerhoff Potter. He graduated form Wayne High School. He served an honorable mission for the LDS Church to the Western Canadian Mission from 1953 to 1955. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a military policeman in German during peace times.He married Janet Buchanan in the Manti LDS Temple. They were later divorced. He married Debra Western on December 27, 1991 in the St. George LDs Temple. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple December 7, 1994.

George taught Vocational Ag at Morgan High School and Piute High School. He worked for many years at Production Credit in Richfield as a loan officer, and for several years at the State Bank of Wayne in Loa. Most recently, he taught the Farm Ranch Management Training Program thru Sevier Valley Tech, helping farmers in the surrounding area to computerize their farm records. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in various positions including Bishop's counselor and currently as membership records clerk.

He is survived by his wife of Richfield; children, Ellen Marie and Jeff Vanuga of DeBois, Wyoming; Kendall and Shauna Potter of Logan; Keturah and Ruben Lujan of Chula Vista, Calif.; Rees Potter of Cedar City; Jared Ralph Potter of Dillon, Montana; Kara and Brent Hafen of Richfield; Yvonne Potter of Salt Lake City; stepchildren, Blaine Carter of Salt Lake City; Jennifer Carter of Elko, Nev.; Gary Carter, Angela Carter and Melissa Carter, all of Richfield; 11 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Zurrell and Grace Potter; James Brink and Joan Potter; Albert and Vivian Potter, all of Loa; Bonita and Mel Taylor of Fremont; Arla Parsons of Richfield; Viola and Dale Baker of Sandy; D. Waldo and Mary Ellen Potter of Ivins, currently serving an LDS Mission to Tonga; Mignon and Keith Cooley of Boise, Idaho; Cleo Blackledge of Penn Valley, Calif.; Virgie and Ralph Arrington of Mesa, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 30, 1995 at 12 noon, in the Richfield 11th LDS Ward Chapel, located at 985 South 400 West. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the ward chapel Friday morning from 10 to 11:30 prior to services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Richfield VFW Post #5050 and the Richfield Unit of the Utah National Guard will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina.
