Era Benjamin Gibbons, age 93, of American Fork, died June 7, 1995 at the Heritage Convalescent Center of natural causes.

He was born Oct. 20, 1901 in Hanksville, Utah, to Benjamin Smith and Martha Medora Mayhew Gibbons. He married Effie L. Pectol, Jan. 29, 1927 in Teasdale, Utah. Marriage later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She died Aug. 8, 1985. He was a rancher and had lived in Hanksville, Lehi, and American Fork. He loved horses and Western stories. He was a member of the LDS Church and enjoyed singing in the ward choir.Survived by one son and two daughters, Donald (Mirriam) Gibbons, Springville; Ila G. Pulley, American Fork; Colleen Gibbons, Layton; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by a son, Era Doyle Gibbons.

Funeral Saturday, June 10, 1995 at 2 p.m. in the American Fork 7th Ward Chapel, 165 No. 350 West. Friends may call at the Wing Mortuary, Lehi, Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the church Saturday, one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the American Fork Cemetery.
