John Alden Miller, Sr., 74, died June 6, 1995 in West Jordan, Utah.

Born April 17, 1921 in Midvale, Utah to William Charles and Alice Elnora Gerber Miller. Married Jeanne Y. Broadbent in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 28, 1942. He participated in World War II in the U.S. Navy with the ARGUS-ACORN unit on amphibious assaults on Eniwitok, Majuro and Kwajalin Islands. Worked at the West Jordan K-Mart as a greeter, where he was known as the "K-Mart Grandpa." His hobby for the past 50 years was ham radio, where he was known as "KD7YF." He was a member of the QCWA, along with other organizations.Survived by wife, Jeanne; son, John A. Miller, Jr.; daughter, Mardelayne Caravantes; son, William Michael Miller; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services Saturday, June 10, 1995, at 1 p.m. in the Bingham Creek 2nd Ward Chapel, 1925 West 9000 South. Friends may call Friday 7-9 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, and Saturday at the church from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
