Our loving husband, father, son and brother, Paul Courtney Barnes, age 26, died unexpectedly in Gresham, Oregon, on July 26, 1995.
Born October 21, 1968 in Portland, Oregon to Richard Lloyd and Joan Carol Blanscett Barnes. Married Laura Long December 13, 1990 in the Jordan River LDS Temple. Paul's greatest love is his wife and son. Active member of the LDS Church. An Eagle Scout, he taught Sunday School, loved sports- particularly the Dodgers, the Bulls, and the Utah Jazz. He enjoyed Little League coaching and loved children and animals. At the time of his death he was attending ITT Technical College as a student of electrical engineering.Survived by his wife, Laura, and son, Darryl Jordan (D.J.); parents, Lloyd and Norma Barnes, West Valley City; Joan Carol Higley of Kanab; grandparents, Hugh and Ardis Barnes, Salt Lake City; Vonda and Ennis Alldredge, Millville, Utah; Darwin and LaRue Blanscett, Ronan, Montana; brothers and sisters, Terry and Karen Russell, West Jordan; Penny and Richard Cline, Sandy; Jenny Lynn Kernan, Kanab; Jim and Raylene Russell, West Jordan; Stephanie and Joe Hargrove, San Diego, Calif.; Robert and Angela Barnes, Salt Lake City; Randy Lloyd Barnes, West Valley City; also many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at the Granger 26th Ward, 3751 So. 2200 West. Friends may call Monday, 5-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Rd., and Tuesday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment, Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
Paul, the emptiness in our hearts won't be filled until we meet again. Love, your family.
