Our kind and dear husband, father and grandfather Keith D. Shipley, age 68, passed away on Saturday July 29, 1995 at his home after a hard struggle with a brain tumor.
Keith was born on Valentine's Day February 14, 1927 in Franklin, Idaho, the youngest and last surviving child of William Cecil and Ellen Tams Shipley. He married Thorborg (Trudy) Hegelstad on June 4, 1955 in Preston, Idaho. During his early years, he lived in Preston, and later moved to Centerville, Utah, where he graduated from Davis High School. He served honorably during World War II in Italy and returned home to graduate from the University of Utah in Business Administration. He belonged to Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and served as president for two years. He was also a member of the University A Cappella Choir. Keith worked for ZCMI for 42 years as a buyer. He loved his work and the people he associated with. He was a member of the LDS Church.
Survived by his wife Trudy, three daughters, Ellen Knell, husband David; Lisa Brown, husband Tom; Annette Brazell, husband Rob; and a son Eric Shipley, wife Stephanie. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
Many thanks and appreciation to all of Keith's family members and friends for their support and prayers. We love you Keith, and we will miss you.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday August 2, 1995 in the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, where friends may call from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
