Cindy Erickson, age 23, of Centerville, a sweet young lady who lived her mortal life in a severely handicapped body, passed away at home on August 24, 1995, after succumbing to the long-term effects of glutaric acidemia.

Cindy was our pioneer in the great journey of living with handicapped people, and helped inspire the book "When Life Doesn't Seem Fair". Cindy will be missed most by her family and friends because of the spirit she brought into our home and the patience she exhibited while being totally imprisoned in her mortal body. She was born March 23, 1972 in Provo, Utah to Bruce E. and Joyce J. Erickson. She attended Monte Vista Elementary School for Special Children in Farmington, Utah, from 1981 to 1986. She loved to attend church at the Centerville 20th LDS Ward. In later years, when she was unable to attend, she loved and appreciated the young women who visited her during church time.

She is survived by her parents, Bruce and Joyce; sisters, Michelle (Leonard), Provo; Lara (Boss), Salt Lake City; and Heidi; a brother, Mark B; grandparents, Lois Erickson, Pleasant View, Utah; and Emil and Annie Johnstun, Tigard, Oregon. She is preceded in death by her sister, Heather, and her grandfather, Eldred H. Erickson.
