John Schiro, age 72, died September 11, 1995, while doing what he loved most: fly fishing.
He was born January 18, 1923 in Helper, Utah, the son of Joseph and Mary Barbario Schiro. Married Barbara Peacock, November 14, 1946 in Las Vegas, Nevada. John was born and raised in Carbon County, later moved to Pleasant Grove where he raised his family and in 1992 returned to Price. Served U.S. Army World War II, in the 358th Infantry Regiment. Member Carpenter's Union Local #1498 for 45 years.He was active in the Timpanogos Archery Club, where he held several state titles. Avid hunter, fly fisherman and a Master Fly Tier, he will be dearly missed by all.
Survived by wife, Barbara Schiro, Price; three daughters, two sons and spouses, Rae Jean and Fred Gearhart, Kellogg, Idaho; John Vincent Schiro, Salt Lake City; Mary Christine and Dave Micoz, Price; Tony Lamar and Wendy Schiro, Lindon; Tracy Ann and Phillip Roy Kendall, Elko, Nevada; two sisters, Florence and Pauline; also survived by 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Joe, Tony, Jack, Vince; sisters, Margaret, Sylvia and Josephine.
Funeral service Friday, Sept. 15, 1995, 11 a.m., Mitchell Chapel. Family will be at Mitchell's Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services. Burial: Mt. View Cemetery.
