Bruce Spinks, a sportswriter, made the catch. Later he sold it to Andrew Kern, an Elvis memorabilia collector from Miami. Kern, who once turned down a $50,000 offer for the cape, died in May.One of his last wishes was to give the waist-length cape to Graceland, Presley's home in Memphis, Tenn. It is now on display, next to Presley's American-eagle jump-suit.
