The brother of the singer Boy George has been arrested on a charge of murdering his wife. Gerald O'Dowd, 31, did not enter a plea during a hearing in Hemel Hempstead, 20 miles northwest of London.
O'Dowd was arrested at his home in Tring, 35 miles northwest of London, where the police found his 32-year-old wife, Jill, with a stab wound in the chest. She died later in the day.In a statement released by Boy George the singer said the family reacted with "absolute disbelief."
"She was a very forthright, bright, intelligent woman and seemed to be very good for him," he said. "We are all thinking of Jill and her family and are hoping to understand the situation a bit better and find out what happened."
