Doril White Horsley, 82, died September 28, 1995 at the South Davis Community Hospital, Bountiful, Utah, of natural causes.
She was born October 24, 1912 in Willard, Utah, a daughter of Ephraim and Martha Eliza Owens White. She married C. LeGrande Horsely July 31, 1936 in Logan, Utah. He died September 28, 1960. She married Scott P. Horsley in 1973. He died Sept. 30, 1976.Doril was an elementary school teacher for 19 years. She taught at the Washakie Indian Reservation, Willard and Brigham City schools, retiring in 1973. She also lived in Malad and Shelley, Idaho, and in Logan, Salt Lake City, Brigham City and Bountiful. She and LeGrande operated Horsley's Store in Brigham City.
She was selected as Mother of the Year in Box Elder County and was a member of the Civic Improvement Club and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She was a member of the LDS Church, living in the Brigham City 2nd, 5th and 4th wards. She served in various callings including ward and stake leadership of the Primary and Relief Society and ward and stake music chorister. She was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and served as an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple.
She is survived by the following children; Brent LeGrande (DeAnn) Horsley, Rockford, Ill.; Martha Claire (Fred) Christensen, Bountiful, Utah, and William White (Susan) Horsley, Phoenix, Arizona; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Stephen White Horsley; two brothers, Virgil and Richard; and three sisters, Agnes, Leone, and Erma.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 30, 1995 at 11 a.m. at the Olsen-Myers Mortuary. Friends may call at the mortuary on Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
