The explosive growth in Logan's housing market continued in 1995 as home building and home values climbed.

The number of permits for single-family homes climbed from 97 in 1994 to 136 in 1995, according to Community Development Director Eric Toll. The homes gaining permits in 1995 were valued at a total of $13.3 million - more than double the value of the 99 homes in 1986, he said.Toll said the value of homes remained relatively constant between 1986 and 1991. But, since then, building has increased.

According to the Cache-Rich Association of Realtors, the average price of a home in the Logan area jumped again in 1995. The year before, the average cost of a home was $104,362. In 1995, that jumped to $110,785.

Toll said construction naturally slowed as winter approached. But with mild temperatures and little snowfall, "it has taken off and hasn't stopped," he said.
