J. Paul Jewkes died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.

Born September 10, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Jesse Delos Jewkes and Belle Augusta Gardner Jewkes. Served in the 84th Infantry of the U.S. Army during the 2nd World War (Battle of the Bulge). Served an LDS mission to South Africa, 1947-49. Married Lorna Golding March 7, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. Graduated from BYU with a B.S. in Business Management in 1951 after attending USC, UCLA, and Amherst College. Served in many LDS Church leadership positions all of his adult life. Was a distinguished benefactor of Brigham Young University. Served as the National President of the BYU Cougar Club. Was a prominent real estate investor and developer in both Southern California and Utah, completing his last project in the fall of 1995.He is survived by his wife, Lorna and his three children: David Loren Jewkes (Wendy), Park City, Utah; Pauline Jewkes Maughan (Michael), Highland, Utah; Lori Jewkes Baker (Reid), Moses Lake, Wash.; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also by two sisters, Phyllis Jewkes Petrangelo (Robert), Los Angeles, Calif.; Barbara Jewkes Barrett (Don), Kellysville, Calif.

Paul was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. We love him very much and he will be greatly missed.

Funeral services Friday, January 5, 12 Noon, Eagle Gate 2nd Ward Chapel, 3rd Avenue & A Street, where friends may call Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Burial at Eastlawn Memorial Hill Cemetery, Provo, Utah.
