Paul Lipson, shown with Peg Murray in the Broadway production of "Fiddler on the Roof" in 1970, died Wednesday in New York at age 82. Lipson also appeared on Broadway in "Detective Story," "Remains to Be Seen," "Carnival in Flanders," "I've Got Sixpence" and other shows. Lipson was appearing as Tevye when "Fiddler" gave its 3,225th performance in 1972, becoming Broadway's longest-running show. He played the role of Tevye over 2,000 times.
