The Huntsman Cup ski race, a qualifying event for the National Handicap Ski Championships, finished up with a slalom race on Sunday on Clementine ski run.

At that time, overall winners in both the men's and women's classes for disabled skiers were crowned. The selection was based on three days of racing.For the men, Monte Meier won the honor and for the women, Nancy Gustafson was crowned. Both are members of the U.S. Disabled Ski Team. Finishing second for the men was Marc Romero of Winter Park, Colo., and for the women Sara Billmeier, a member of the U.S. team.

The event for blind, mobility impaired and amputee racers, opened on Friday with a Super G. A giant slalom followed on Saturday.

In Sunday's slalom, Gustafson and Billmeier finished one-two with times of one minute, 29.02 seconds and 1:37.18, respectively.

Meier won the men's slalom in 1:24.90. Second was Todd Bittner of the U.S. team.

Winning the women's mono-ski race was Kelly Fox in 2:19.84. Christopher Young and Christopher Waddell finished one-two on the men's mono-ski.

Doug Holmes, a member of the Park City National Ability Center, won the men's senior, followed by Wayne Cook of Winter Park.

There were 57 skiers from around the country competing in the qualifying event.

Those selected to represent the U.S. will leave next week to compete in the world championships in Austria.

The U.S. team is currently ranked No. 1 in the world.
