Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and most devoted husband returned to his Father in Heaven, with his loving family at his bedside, at his home in Salt Lake City, October 12, 1996, after a long illness.

Born April 7, 1912 in Providence, Utah to Floyd Thomas Rose and Ora Lillis Thorpe. Married Beulah Hinckley in the Salt Lake Temple June 30, 1938. They became the parents of ten children, five boys and five girls. He grew up in Logan, Utah. He served a mission in the Western States Mission. He attended Utah State University and Brigham Young University where he was a student body officer. He was an avid Cougar fan. He studied advertising and marketing at New York University. He was Advertising Manager of Becton Dickinson Company in Rutherford, New Jersey.In 1951, he established Ford Thomas Rose and Company in Salt Lake City. He was a man of outstanding business integrity, leadership and enthusiasm, active in community service, holding positions in the Kiwanis, the Lions, the Chamber of Commerce, Salt Lake Ad Club, and was president of the Utah Idaho Specialty Advertising Association. He was a lifetime member of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers. He served as Mayor of Washington Terrace and assistant advertising manager of the Ogden Standard Examiner and Radio Station KLO. He taught classes at Fairly Dickinson College, Brigham Young University and L.D.S. Business College. He was named the Man of the Year by Counselor Magazine. In 1988, he was inducted into the Specialty Advertising Association International Hall of Fame. A Chair was donated in his honor by the Promotional Products College Education Foundation. His real joy in life was his love and devotion to his sweetheart and eternal companion Beulah, his children, his home and church. His was a life of service. He ushered at the Salt Lake Tabernacle, and worked in the Salt Lake Temple for many years. He enjoyed teaching the Gospel Doctrine class, and at the time of his death he was an active High Priest in the Valley View 5th Ward.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Audine. He is survived by his wife, Beulah, his life long friend and eternal companion of 58 years; and his children, Priscilla Rose Crockett (Richard), Castro Valley, Calif.; Ford Thomas Rose II (Kathy), Roy, Utah; Robert Floyd Rose (Barbara), North Salt Lake, Utah; Kathleen Rose Jensen (Marvin), Bountiful, Utah; Marie Rose George (Gerald), Bountiful, Utah; Darlene Rose Rich (Ralph), Green Bay, Wisc.; Jeanine Rose Dodge (Merrill), Bennion, Utah; Kenneth Hinckley Rose (Diane), Sandy, Utah; Wallace Hinckley Rose (Valinda), Sandy, Utah; and Lyman Hinckley Rose (Lesa), Sandy, Utah; 62 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sister, Ora Piper, Springville, Utah.

The family would like to thank all who have been so tender, kind, and caring during his illness, especially the doctors, nurses and home health care aides.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 1996 at 12 noon at the Valley View 5th Ward, 2125 East Evergreen Avenue, Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends may call Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and at the church from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
