Richard F. Millar, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, returned to his Heavenly Father, Oct. 28, 1996, after a short but gallant fight with cancer.

He was born in Lindon, Utah, to Leonard and Nancy Elizabeth Green Millar, January 25, 1931. He was the youngest of nine children. He married Carma Conder, January 25, 1951, and they remained lifelong partners, there for one another, in good times and bad. In their 45 years together they had seven children and 45 grandchildren. Richard drove trucks for a short while. Being a man who always dreamed big and had the heart to take a risk, he formed his own trucking company in 1956 (Richard Millar Trucking), and was self-employed from that time on, until his retirement in 1993. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family and life-long friends, just talking and telling stories. He was loved greatly and will be missed the same.He is survived by his wife; four daughters and three sons, Cindy (Jerry) Girder, San Diego, Calif.; Carol (Bill) Brown, Highland; Connie (Kenny) Edwards, Redding, Calif.; Marie (Brent) Cardon, Provo; Dale (Carla) Millar, Pleasant Grove; Dean (Kimberli) Millar, Pleasant Grove; David (Heidi) Millar, Lehi; 24 grandchildren. Additional survivors include two brothers, Harvey Millar and Leland Millar, both of Pleasant Grove.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 31 1996 at 11 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 500 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary and on Thursday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the American Fork City Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by District IV of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
