Typical, typical, typical. "Representative Bill Orton, D-Utah, will introduce legislation today . . .." This time it is a national monument bill.

We have no idea how many bills he has "introduced" in his years in Congress, nor how many have gone beyond the introduction stage. They stay in committee where they have remained without ever coming to the floor for debate. On trips home he tells his constituents, "I have introduced a bill on. . . . " Well, he has, but . . . it makes headlines in the paper and makes the 6 o'clock news but hasn't changed your life one bit.Third District voters, having a majority in Congress is the only way to protect us from our imperialist president. As a slogan at the Republican State Convention said, "We have two Bills in Washington and we can't afford either one." Let's stop them both before we get more federal control in our lives.
