Residents interested in reading the state's official Voter Information Pamphlet can watch local newspapers over the next two weeks or contact your local library for a free copy.
Every general election the Lieutenant Governor's Office by law must prepare an official, nonpartisan pamphlet explaining the different voting procedures and ballot propositions. This year there are six constitutional amendments on the ballot statewide. There are no citizen initiatives. While some petitions were started, none were turned in with the required 70,000-plus signatures of registered voters. (The propositions will be outlined Sunday and Monday in the Deseret News.)
The pamphlet also includes information from the state Judicial Council on the 39 judges that stand in retention elections Nov. 5.
If you miss the free copy that will be inserted in your newspaper, you can get a free copy from a public library or county elections clerk.
