John F. Kennedy Jr. came back from his honeymoon with a message to the media: Leave my wife alone.
Kennedy and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy returned from their honeymoon in Turkey Saturday to find a horde of reporters and photographers camped outside their apartment in Manhattan's Tribeca neighborhood.On Sunday, Kennedy asked the reporters to give his bride some space.
"This is a big change for anyone, and for a private citizen even more so," Kennedy said. "I ask that you give Carolyn all the privacy and room you can."
Kennedy, the editor of George, a political magazine, said he and his wife enjoyed their honeymoon and said married life is "great." Bessette-Kennedy smiled when asked if she was enjoying being married. Then the couple sped off in a Saab.
The couple married on Sept. 21 in a secret ceremony in Cumberland Island, Ga.
