Our dear mother, Iris Bethers Parrish, left us November 13, 1996 to be with her parents, Leonard McGuire and Stella McDonald Bethers.

Born Dec. 18, 1922 in a tent in Castle Gate, Utah, Iris lived in Park City, Heber and Daniels. Iris loved designing her own patterns and sewing beautiful outfits for her sister, Eleanor and later her own three children. Iris will always be remembered for her kindness to everyone and her willingness to help whenever asked, from being a roommother, MIA teacher and Primary counselor. For 35 years she enjoyed being a florist in Heber.Iris is survived by her children whom she loved more than life itself: son, Greg, his wife, Phyillis and daughter, Shala; her daughter, Christina and son, Carter; her daughter, Sheri Lyn and her husband, Tom Gordon and their children, Parrish (Kristi), Corbin, Kamien, Gabrielle, Arianne and Cecily; one great-grandson, Cole Gordon; brothers and sisters, LaDene Sweat, Heber City; Barton L. Bethers, Ogden; Neil Bethers, Provo; Eleanor McCleary, Midvale; cousin, Blaine Thatcher, Roy

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 16, 12 noon at Heber 4th Ward, 176 West 500 So. Friends may call Friday, 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Mortuary, 288 No. Main, and Saturday at the church from 10-11:30. Burial, Heber City Cemetery. The world became a much less caring and compassionate place when Iris left this earth.
