Emma Gommlich Ettrich, our beloved mother, "Omi" and "Tante Emmy", died on Nov. 6, 1996 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born on October 16, 1902 in Dresden, Germany, to Clara Mueller and Max Gommlich. She was the oldest daughter of eleven brothers and sisters. All but one brother, Hans Gommlich, preceded her in death. She married Erhard Ettrich on April 2, 1930, in New York City; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. In 1945, he became a casualty of World War II.She was a very warm and caring person with a special love for small children. She was an active member of the German-Speaking Ward.

She is survived by her son Fred (Inge); two granddaughters, Melony (Blake) Hamilton, Trish (John) Mackie; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a special niece, Rita Lawson, who, along with her husband Ken, gave many selfless hours of love and care to "Tante Emmy".

Funeral services 12 Noon Monday November 18, 1996 in the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive where friends may call from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
