Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend, teacher and coach returned home to his Father in Heaven on Saturday, November 16, 1996.

Born in Riverside, California, August 21, 1954 to Le Grand Barker and Connie Rhees Ward, he was one of eight children. He married Sharlene Gay Palmer on October 11, 1975 in the Provo LDS Temple.Kelly grew up and was educated in Spanish Fork, Utah. Endowed with a gentle and loving heart and an inquiring and sensitive nature, Kelly pursued many interests and goals. An Eagle Scout at the age of 13, he excelled in sports, the arts and religious activities and served as Seminary Student Body president at the Spanish Fork High School where he graduated with high honors in 1972.

He attended Brigham Young University and graduated from SUSC with a BS degree in accounting and received his CPA. He taught at UVSC and was currently serving as CFO at Liberty Safe. While coaching baseball, Kelly touched the lives of hundreds of young boys and young men and he will be missed as a coach and friend. He served an honorable mission in the California South Mission and has served his Heavenly Father and his fellowmen throughout his life. An active member of the LDS Church, he served as Elder's Quorum president, and in many other capacities in the priesthood and auxiliaries. His family and the gospel were his greatest joy and focus!

He is survived by his wife and children: Shawn K.; Matthew L.; Jason L.; and Stefany Ann and his parents and brother, Tyler R. (Anita) Ward, all of Spanish Fork, and sisters, Karen Rae (James) Lundahl of Logan; Adele (Allen) Coray, of Kaysville; De Anne (Kent) Haws of Challis, Idaho; Jill (Phil) Cramblett of Portland, Oregon; Lynette (Terry) Rogerson of Layton; Jana Rae (Jerry) Shaw of North Ogden; and grandmother Thelma W. Rhees of Pleasant View, Weber County.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Spanish Fork East Stake Center, 870 East 300 South. Friends may call Tuesday evening, November 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Walker Mortuary and again Wednesday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Kelly Ward Family Fund may be made to Western Community Bank of Orem, 1376 North State St. Orem, Utah.
