`AUNT BEE' WAS A HONEY, EVEN ON HER DEATHBED

On her deathbed, actress Frances Bavier of "The Andy Griffith Show" was just like her TV character Aunt Bee: soft-hearted.

In an interview to be broadcast on The Nashville Network, Griffith told about a telephone conversation he had with Bavier shortly before she died of cancer and heart disease in 1990 at age 86."She said, `I'm sorry we didn't get along better,' " Griffith said.

"We got along fine," Griffith said. "It's just that she didn't feel like it a lot of times."

"She wanted to talk to me to say goodbye," he said. "That's some experience."
