Alice Leona Boyce, 98, passed away Sunday, November 3, 1996 at her daughters home in Layton.
She was born Jan. 10, 1898 in Huntington, Utah, a daughter of Samuel James and Margaret Ellen Black Rowley.She married George Preston Boyce, June 17, 1922 in Castle Dale, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away December 19, 1972. She was always active in the LDS Church, serving in several callings. Alice has been a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Preston (Laura) Boyce, Layton; Don (Linda) Boyce, Farmington; three daughters, Marguerite (Gordon) Rankin, Sunset; Carol Jeannine (Fred) Thomason and Sammy LaRue (Wylie) Asbury, all of Layton; 21 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Samuella Hawkins, Bountiful. Preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 1996 at the Cherry Lane Ward, 1015 N. Emerald St. in East Layton, with Bishop G. Blake Wahlen, officiating. Friends may call Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. at the Lindquist Layton Mortuary, 1074 N. Fairfield Rd and Wednesday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
