Harry Nathaniel Neff, our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather left this physical world on November 4, 1996, to join his parents and son in spirit.
Born December 17, 1913 in Bingham, Utah to George Washington and Violet Ray Neff. Married Orpha Althea Stocking on August 18, 1934 in Sandy, Utah, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Harry was a self educated man and worked in the Arms plant in Salt Lake during World War II. He was a High Priest in the Murray 1st Ward, served as High Priest secretary, home teacher and performed name extraction for temple ordinances. Member of Utah Oil Retirees Club. Harry spent many years as an avid sportsman - hunting and fishing. Later interests included Wasatch Gem Society, coin collecting and metal detecting. He more recently devoted more time to scripture study and compiling his personal history. His writings are an expression of his core values of hard work, independence and total honesty. More importantly, they personify the deep spirituality he felt.Survivors: wife, Orpha S. Neff; daughter, Joyce D. Neff; son, Wendell C. Neff (Rose); daughter-in-law, Donna Neff. Preceded in death by son, Wayne J. Neff. Also survived by brothers and sisters, Virginia Stocking, Clairmont Neff (Joyce), Florence Olson (Ferrin), Edna Visher (Richard), 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. His friend and companion Benji (a Pomeranian) misses his daddy.
Funeral services, Friday, November 8th, 11 a.m., Murray 1st Ward Chapel, 363 E. Vine Street. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State, and Friday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
