- CALL FOR ENTRIES
The Utah Arts Council invites folk and ethnic artists wishing to teach their traditional skills and art forms to interested apprentices to apply for financial assistance through the 1997 Folk Arts Apprenticeship Project. Application forms are available and must be postmarked or delivered to the Utah Arts Council, 617 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84102, by Dec. 31. Project guidelines and applications as well as additional information concerning the program may be obtrained by calling Anne Hatch at the Council's Folk Arts Program at 533-5760.
The Utah Arts Council and the Utah Center for Families in Education announce a call for entries for a poster contest for their 1997 conference. The theme: "Turn on the Light of Learning for a Lifetime." Participants must be in grades K-12. All entries must be submitted by Jan. 1, to: Arts in Education, Utah Arts Council, 617 E. The National Park Academy of the Arts and the National Park Foundation announce a call for entries for the 11th annual "Arts for the Parks" competition. The national competition searches for 100 paintings that best capture the "essence" and diversity of the landscape, wildlife and history of the national park system. Deadline for entries is June 1.
