George Henry Westerman, age 75, passed away December 2, 1996 in Salt Lake City.

Born Oct. 22, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of William Arthur and Grace Ferwerda Westerman. Married Mary Lou Salaski, later divorced; married Lucille De Waal, later divorced. Member of the LDS Church. He worked as a welder for Lang Company. George was very creative and made many special wagons and bicycles for the handicapped, and created steeples for many churches. Veteran of World War II.Survivors: Sons, William G. DeGraaff, Riverton, Utah; George R. Westerman, Kearns, Utah; daughter, Mrs. Sherry (Joe) Barney, American Fork, Utah; stepson, Glen Cowlishaw, West Valley City and stepdaughter, Bonnie Bettinson, Salt Lake City; sister, Betty Salt, Salt Lake City; brothers, William Westerman, North Carolina and Charles Westerman, California, 23 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 12 noon, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Friday from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
