"Your life is a guide...Much like a star,

You inspire other people... Wherever you are.You are constant in faith,

Noble in living,

Abiding in love,

Sacrificial in giving.

Our wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Leon Radmall Walker, peacefully passed away of cancer on February 22, 1996. His family, who are his pride and joy, were at his side. He has been called to his last and greatest mission.

Dad was born November 11, 1917 in Lindon, Utah, to Lawrence Ross and Dahlia Radmall Walker. His whole life was centered in Lindon and he dearly loved this town. He attended school in Pleasant Grove and after graduation served his first mission to Argentina in 1941.

He returned to continue his education and became an electrician. He married his sweetheart Zeona Mecham on May 4, 1945. Last year they celebrated their 50 years together.

Our dad's whole life was centered on love and service.

He worked for 22 years at Geneva Steel as an electrician, but his greatest satisfaction came from his church service. His callings included bishop, high council member, MTC branch president, stake president, regional representative and temple worker. Dad and Mom served a mission to Concepcion, Chile in 1977. He served as the mission president. They returned to Lima, Peru in 1988 to serve as president of the Mission Training Center. They were recently called to serve in the Guatemala City Mission as welfare missionaries. It was during this mission that illness brought him home.

Dad loved being associated with people and loved teaching young people. He sincerely loved the scouting program and dedicated many hours of service to this cause. He was honored with the Silver Beaver award in 1990, an honor he was extremely proud of. He also loved teaching the prospective Elders. Teaching Sunday School to the youth was another of his loves. He often said that they taught him much more than he could teach them.

Dad served in the community as a City Councilman and Mayor of Lindon. His influence was great and meaningful. We'll miss him for now, but in time we will be with him again.
