The American Piano Quartet will perform at a special open house today at the new Daynes Music Co. store in Midvale, 6935 S. State.

The open house, a benefit for the Utah Symphony Guild, will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Steinway, Boston and Weber pianos, along with Korg and Suzuki electronic keyboards, will be available at liquidation prices, with 10 percent of the proceeds going to the Utah Symphony.The American Piano Quartet will perform at 6 p.m., on five Steinway concert grands. Refreshments will be served.

- ANOTHER OPEN HOUSE will be held Saturday, March 2, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Peter Prier & Sons Violins, 308 E. 220 South.

Looking toward the 25th anniversary of the Violin Making School of America, the company will unveil a 400-square-foot gallery showcasing modern violins, violas, cellos, basses and bows. Music and food will be served.

Founded in 1972, the Violin Making School of America was the first of its kind in this country. Since then around 150 students have graduated, many going on to win prizes at Violin Society of America competitions.
