Fred H. Rollins III, former marketing director in Utah for Delta Air Lines, will join EvansGroup Public Relations as corporate executive vice president and director of the agency's Salt Lake public relations office.
Andy Hopson, president of EvansGroup Public Relations, said Rollins will focus primarily on building the travel/tourism and sports marketing units of the agency. "Fred is a tremendously respected member of the community and a seasoned public relations practitioner," said Hopson.Jon Johnson, chairman and chief executive officer of Evans-Group, concurred. "Hiring Fred Rollins underscores our commitment to building an even stronger public relations capability in Salt Lake City.
"Not only will he help us solidify our position there, but his background and experience will be beneficial to our entire network of public relations operations as we expand to become a dominant presence in every city in which we operate," Johnson said.
Rollins has served as the intermountain district director of marketing and sales for Delta since 1987 when the Atlanta-based airline first entered the Utah market.
He serves as a trustee for the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympics Organizing Committee and Ballet West. He also serves on the boards of The Salt Lake City Convention and Visitors Bureau and has been active with the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Corporation of Utah. He is in the Utah Tourism Hall of Fame.
EvansGroup Public Relations has a staff of 65 and expects billings of some $7 million this year. It is a division of Evans-Group, an eight-office marketing communications agency based in Salt Lake City.
