LaMar Norton, 80, of Salt Lake City, died March 15, 19696.

He was born October 25, 1915 in Panguitch, Utah to Albert Wesley and Sarah Ann Wilson Norton, Jr. He married Velma Hullinger on January 12, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He served in the U.S. Army, 4th Armored Division during World War II, under General Patton's Third Army, participating in the Battle of the Bulge.

He was active in the LDS Church serving a mission in the Salt Lake area and serving in the Salt Lake Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Velma Hullinger Norton; seven children, Verdis (Bonnie) Norton of Chicago, Ill.; Dea (Dave) Miller of Chesapeake, Virg.; Delmar (Connie) Norton of Salt Lake City; Ralayne (David) Lundberg of Kinston, N.C.; Kordell (Renee') Norton of McKinney, Texas; Wade (Debbie) Norton of Tualatin, Oregon; and Shauna (Buzz) Butler of Salt Lake City; brother, Joseph Norton of Lapoint, UT; sister, Wilma Haslem of Layton; 38 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at the Winder LDS 13th Ward, 4530 South 1250 East. Friends may call Monday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Neil O-Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, and also one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church. Burial, Elysian Burial Gardens.
