Harvey Halverson, 97, died in Roy, Utah, March 16, 1996.
He as born March 7, 1899 in Palmyra, Utah, to Mary Peterson Bole and Andrew Halverson. Married Signe Elizabeth Holmes in Bingham Canyon, December 24, 1927, marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, February 1958. She died October 3, 1974. He retired from the U.S. Smelting & Refining Co. in 1967. The family lived in Telegraph, Bingham Canyon, Utah until mining expansion forced them to move. He lived in West Jordan until 1995 and was self-sufficient through is 96th birthday. He lived with his son Eugene and daughter-in-law, Joyce, until shortly before his death. He had a wonderful sense of humor, lived a full life, traveled and enjoyed his family.Survived by sons, Eugene (Joyce), Clinton; Leland (Carol), Torrey; Paul (Agnes), Elyria, Ohio; daughter, Vivian Halverson, Honolulu, Hawaii; sister, Mary Hannah Bowen, Idaho Falls; many nieces, nephews; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12590 So. 2300 West, Riverton, Thurs., March 21 at 1 p.m., where friends may call one hour prior. Interment, West Jordan Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the home health care nurses at Castle County Health Center, Murray, Senior Care, Ogden and the staff of Heritage Park Care Center, Roy for their loving care.
