Sylvester Stallone says his ex-stepfather - fired as Sly's business manager - is taking things a little too personally.
Anthony Filiti, who says he helped raise and support Stallone since age 12, filed a $50 million lawsuit against the actor on Thursday.Filiti, who became Stallone's business manager in 1991, claims he was defamed and wrongfully fired and has suffered emotional distress. He says Stallone's profits rose "from zero to $80 million" from 1991 until he was fired last year.
The star of the "Rocky" movies said the lawsuit "is personal and frivolous and has no credence whatsoever."
The restaurant chain Planet Hollywood Inc. and two of its executives are also named in the suit. Filiti said after he advised Stallone not to invest in the chain, the executives convinced the actor that Filiti was dishonest.
Filiti is divorced from Stallone's mother, Jacqueline.
