Floyd Collier Lovell was called home to his Heavenly Father March 20, 1996 after courageously enduring a long illness.

He was born to George and Ruth Walker Lovell in Oak City, Utah on December 8, 1928. He later moved to Lindon and Pleasant Grove, where he met and married the love of his life, Ora June Jense. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. He and Ora, his wife of 49 years, have five children whom they raised in Orem and Sandy, Utah.Floyd worked hard to care for his family. The majority of his working life was driving a truck. He enjoyed his church calling of eight years as security for the Mt. Jordan 4th Ward Chapel. He enjoyed hunting and loved to spend leisure time in the desert with family and friends.

He was a talented craftsman and had an excellent reputation far and wide as a master gunsmith. He had also perfected the art of making arrowheads. His happiest times where when his bustling family was around him.

Floyd was loved by many friends and neighbors including kids and dogs or anyone who needed a helping hand. We love you, Floyd, you will be greatly missed but we are happy you are finally in your heavenly home with all of our loved ones on that side.

He is survived by his wife, Ora of Sandy; children include two sons and two daughters: John Collier (Teresa) Lovell, Saudi Arabia; Jeraldene (John) Macfarlane, Salt Lake; Jeneal (Michael) Webber, Alpine; Kelly Floyd (Kara Lee) West Valley; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include a sister, Bernise Harding, and a brother, Glenn Lovell, both of Tooele. He was preceded in death by a son, Alan Jense Lovell, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 23, 1996, at 1 p.m., in the Mt. Jordan Fourth Ward Chapel, 235 East 9800 South, Sandy. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, and at the church on Saturday from 11:45-12:45. Burial, Sandy City Cemetery.
