Our mother and grandmother, Mary Alice Millward Fenton, finished her earthly journey March 22, 1996 after living 91 incredible years.
She was one of eleven children born in Grantsville, September 3, 1904 to Charlotte and Joseph Millward. She married Lee Fenton October 26, 1927 in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Salt Lake, Erda, and in 1938 moved to Tooele where they resided in the same home for over 50 years until Lee's death in 1991. After Lee's death Alice moved to Sandy to the Crosslands Retirement Community. Alice has always been a very involved, elegant lady. She was a long-time member of the Tooele Library Board, member of several Relief Society presidencies, first kindergarton teacher, Tooele Army Depot, charter member of Sand Lily Camp of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, active in politics, choir director, and loved to cook and entertain. No one ever left the Fenton residence without something to eat, a tradition carried on when she moved to Crosslands. She is survived by four children, Mary Kuczynski (Bill Whisler), Seattle, Wash.; Richard (Shirley) Fenton, Cupertino, Calif.; Loralee (Jack) Job, West Valley City, Utah; Leslie (Keith) Stewart, Taylorsville, Utah; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Jack Millward, Grantsville; and one sister, Grace Wanlass, Salt Lake City; many sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Bennion Care Center for their compassion and love.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 27 at Tate Mortuary, Tooele, at 1 p.m. with a viewing that morning from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial in Tooele City Cemetery.
