Carolyn Smith-Brown has been named vice president of academic affairs at LDS Business College in Salt Lake City.
Smith-Brown has been with the college for 23 years, serving as an English/communication instructor, director of the associate degree transfer program and dean of academic affairs.In 1982 and again in 1992, she directed the college's accreditation efforts and was also responsible for curriculm development in seven departments.
Smith-Brown earned her bachelor's degree in 1968 from the University of Utah. She received a federal education fellowship for advanced studies and completed a master's degree and doctoral program at the U.
President Stephen K. Woodhouse said, "Dr. Brown has provided invaluable direction in the development of our academic programs. She brings great skills and insight to this new position."
According to Woodhouse, the new position of vice president of academic affairs will allow faculty a greater input in the budget process.
