D. Wayne Mallet, 81, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 1996 in Tooele, Utah.
He was born June 26, 1914 in Tooele to Alma F. and Annie May Peart Mallet. He married Viola McKay on December 14, 1936 in Tooele. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 8, 1951. She preceded him in death on July 7, 1965. He married Ruth T. Lee on May 27, 1966. Wayne was in business for many years as an excavating and building contractor. He also was Building and Zoning director for Tooele County. One of his proudest accomplishments was helping to organize the Tooele Chapter of the Sons of Utah Pioneers. He enjoyed serving as the National president of this organization. He was a dedicated member of the LDS Church, serving as a bishop's counselor, stake president's counselor and bishop of the Tooele 12th Ward. He loved dancing, he loved corny jokes, he loved people, he loved life. He will be missed dearly.He is survived by his wife, Ruth; his children, Don Mallet, Marilyn Mallet, Nancy Oakden, Lorraine and Bruce Phillips, and Janice Jardine; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his step children, Jerry Lee, Diane Mahmood, Candy Walters, Debbie Norton and their children and grandchildren; brother, Marshall Dean Mallet of Meadow, Utah; and sister, Gloria Mallet Reynolds of Marced, Calif.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 8, 1996 at 11 a.m., in the Tooele 12th-16th LDS Ward, 1100 Skyline Drive. Friends may call at Tate Mortuary, on Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior at the church on Friday. Interment in the Tooele City Cemetery.
