Those little white lies we can live with - it's the whoppers we never forget.

Here are what some folks recall as the biggest lies they've ever told or been told:- Sylvia Razi, 15, Woodland Hills, Calif.: "I told my mom I was going to the gym when actually I was going out with a guy. And I also forged my parent's signature on a school paper, which wasn't a lie, but it was dishonest."

- Sean Rance, 27, Studio City, Calif.: "My mom told a big lie to me. She said my stepfather was in the hospital but doing fine, and actually he had died."

- Donna Lee, 30, Valencia, Calif.: "A friend said she couldn't go shopping with me because she had to do something with her mother, but then I saw her out in town and so I knew she'd lied, and it hurt that she didn't want to go with me. . . . The biggest lie I ever told was to my husband. I bought an expensive dress and told my husband that I had gotten it as a gift a long time ago."

- Rachel Pressman, 15, Canoga Park, Calif.: "My mom once told me she was visiting with a girl-friend but actually she was with a man for the weekend in Palm Springs. It hurt, but then I lied to her about two boys who came to our house. I told her they left that night, but actually they didn't leave until 9 a.m. the next morning."

- Rick Rice, 36, Woodland Hills, Calif.: "The worst lie anybody ever told me was that I had a job that didn't exist. I didn't find out until about a week before I was to start work and somebody told me that it had been filled a long time ago. But I've told little lies, like saying I'm going to call a girl when I knew I wasn't going to."

- Milana Rasic, 20, Chatsworth, Calif.: "The worst lie anybody ever told me was a friend who said she wasn't interested in my boyfriend and actually they were seeing each other. And the worst lie I ever told was when I told my mother I was going somewhere but really I was going somewhere else. It's something I've always felt bad about."

- Jimmy Barnett, 21, Canoga Park, Calif.: "A contractor lied to us and said the job would be done in a few weeks and it turned out to be several months."

- Allyson Kremenetsky, 22, Reseda, Calif.: "Once my parents told me they were going to Santa Barbara for a few days, and I found out later they went to Las Vegas. I've never figured that one out."

- Kirk Nesman, 38, West Hills, Calif.: "When I was a kid, someone said I did something I didn't do and I got punished. I always wondered why they did it. . . . The worst lie I ever told was lying about my age to get a job."

- Rhoda Wright, 47, Woodland Hills, Calif.: "Once, a long time ago, I told some people what a great party they had, but it wasn't at all."

- Sandra Woodring, 29, Studio City, Calif.: "I'm in retail and every night we vacuum the store before we leave. - Briana Saywer, 15, Northridge, Calif.: "The worst lie a girlfriend and I did was tell the teacher we needed to leave because of family problems, and I actually cried to make it look like I was really upset. But it wasn't like the worst lie told to me, which was when my boyfriend said he loved me and he didn't."
