Theresa Sears Wakefield, "an angel in our midst," passed away April 9, 1996 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born June 15, 1911 in Bountiful, Utah, third child of William Gailey and Athelia Viola Call Sears. Married G. Dwight Wakefield, June 27, 1935 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. This loving union was blessed with five children.Her lifetime of church activity included a mission in the Central States, service as a counselor in the MIA, ward Relief Society president, served in two stake Relief Society presidencies and a stake Primary presidency.

She was known by many as a wonderful cook and caterer. She enjoyed sharing her extensive handiwork with family and friends.

"Every stitch was stitched with love."

She is survived by her husband; children: Gordon D. (Carol) Wakefield, Karen W. (Stephen) Stutz, Laraine W. (Richard) Hyte, Sharlene W. (Gary) Ladle, and son-in-law, Adrian (Charlene) Lockwood; 25 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Joseph A. and William G. Sears; four sisters: Marguerite Snow, Viola Stott, Athelia Tanner, and Lucille Hofmann.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Yvonne W. Lockwood, sisters Sarah Jane Sears and Agnes Jacobs, and Verda Gaines.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13, at 12 noon at the Highland Park Ward, 2535 So. Douglas St. (1240 E.). Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple on Friday, April 12, from 6 to 8 pm and at the church,10:30 to 11:30 am, prior to services.

Interment at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Primary Children's Hospital.
