Macaulay Culkin's father slapped him in the face for refusing to clean up his room, so he called police.
Christopher "Kit" Culkin admitted to police that he slapped his son, and they referred the case to family court without filing charges, said Officer Noreen Murray, a police spokeswoman. The 911 call was placed Thursday from the family's apartment on Manhattan's Upper West Side. The 15-year-old star of the "Home Alone" movies did not require medical treatment, Murray said.
The fight comes during a nasty battle for custody of Macaulay and his six brothers and sisters.
Culkin, 50, and Patricia Brentrup, 41, lived together for 20 years and had seven children. The couple split up last year, and their battle is largely a question of who will control Macaulay's $50 million fortune.
His mother and father have lived off their cut of his earnings, which are protected by trust-fund legislation.
According to the Daily News, Macaulay has fired his father, known in Hollywood as an arrogant and tough bargainer, as manager.
Macaulay and his brothers are often unsupervised and have been accused of unruly behavior including rowdy beer-soaked parties.
Macaulay has earned millions of dollars by starring in the 1990 hit "Home Alone," its sequel and other movies including "My Girl," "Richie Rich," and "The Good Son."
