Ida Margaret Johnson Perkins, 90, died peacefully at home, Saturday, April 27, 1996 in the presence of her lifelong companion and husband, Milton L. Perkins.

Ida was born October 7, 1905 in Salt Lake City. Adopted by Julius and Margaret Emily (Maggie) Beemus Johnson.Graduated Gunnison High School, Class of 23 along with her friend, Milt Perkins whom she married December 23, 1927 in the Salt Lake Temple. Ida played and taught piano much of her life. She was an LDS Church organist by age 12 and served for a total of almost 65 years.

Survivors include husband, Milton; and sister, Rosie Waters Jaynes. A devoted mom, she is also survived by her three children, Carlo, Leeman, and Karen Perkins and their respective spouses, Connie Perkins, Marianne Perkins and George Sears. She leaves seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Grandsons, Curtis Lee Perkins, and Marc Christian Perkins, preceded her in death.

Services Thursday, May 2, 1996, in the Cottonwood 8th Ward Chapel, 6301 South 2300 East, at 11 a.m. Friends may call an hour before. Funeral directors, Cottonwood-McKay.
