Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, will receive Senator of the Year accolades from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Utah Chapter, June 1 at the Marriott Hotel.

The award is being presented to Hatch on behalf of the entire national organization, and as part of the award, the society has named one of its multiple sclerosis research grants in the senator's honor.Hatch will receive the award as part of the annual MS Family Seminar, "Management Issues in Multiple Sclerosis." The event is expected to attract more than 200 Utah residents with MS, their families and their physicians.

The organization's three-year, $248,000 grant honoring Hatch was awarded in Utah to University of Utah neurologist Jack Petajan, principal investigator. The grant is being used to research the central and peripheral contributions to fatigue in multiple sclerosis.
