Jamaican reggae-rapper Eek-a-Mouse says he's living "in exile" in San Diego but refuses to swim because he doesn't want to be "a wet rat."

Mouse, who borrowed his nickname from a racehorse he was betting on, has just released his 10th album, "Black Cowboy" (Sunset Boulevard)."The songs you hear, I've been singing since I was a child," the humorous rapper said, adding that he's long been fascinated by the American West.

"I always loved California because it's very sunny and has a lot of racetracks," he said. "I also love it because it reminds me of Jamaica and it's got some lovely beaches."
