At last month's 14th annual Utah National Association of Social Workers conference, one faculty member from the School of Social Work at Brigham Young University was honored and another was named to an office in the association.

W. Eugene Gibbons was selected as State Educator of the Year, and Judy L. Norman will serve as the state vice president of the Utah Chapter.The award to Gibbons recognizes his 27 years of service at BYU. As the senior chairman for the National Commission on Accreditation, Gibbons was responsible for starting BYU's social work programs for both undergraduate and graduate studies.

Norman will begin her two-year term of office in August.
