Gwen Bowler Gregerson, age 64, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully June 11, 1996.
Born August 18, 1931 in Salt Lake City to Samuel Bowler and Erma Jeppson Bowler. She married Legrande Woodbury Gregerson on November 25, 1947. Together they had two children, Kathryn Lee Pettit, and Steven Ray Gregerson. She was a dedicated mother who sacrificed greatly because of her love for her children.Gwen was a highly intelligent and well-read person. She loved to read mysteries and to watch old movies. She traveled to Hawaii, Mazatlan, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. with her loving husband.
Gwen was able to be at home with her children during their childhood. She was an excellent cook and housekeeper. She worked at the Utah State Prison for 17 years and retired in 1993. She loved to play pinochle and engage in deep discussions. Gwen was always a gracious hostess, she made sure guests were welcome and well-fed.
Survived by husband, Legrande Woodbury Gregerson; daughter, Kathryn Lee Pettit; son, Steven Ray Gregerson; brother, Don Bowler; half-sister, Laurie Moran Hartley; half-brothers, Brent Bowler, Bruce Bowler, Brad Bowler; grandchildren, Keith Pettit, Eric Pettit, Toni Pettit Carpenter, Ray Gregerson, Ryan Gregerson, and Nikki Gregerson. Preceded in death by her beloved brother, Jack; mother, Erma Stafford; and father, Samuel Bowler.
A graveside service will be held on June 14, 1996, 10 a.m.. All mourners are welcome to come to this service at Utah Veteran's Memorial Park, Camp Williams. Comments and thoughts about Gwen will be offered by those who wish to share. Gwen wanted us not to mourn, but to have joy in having loved her. Directors, Valley View Funeral Home.
